Things to Do at The Lift: Trivia, Music Bingo and Game Day

Looking for something fun to do in Boise on a weeknight? The Lift Bar + Grill hosts two free game nights every week, shows the big games on TVs throughout the bar, and fills up with Broncos fans all football season. Here is everything happening at 4091 W State St and how to make the most of it.

Music Bingo: Wednesdays at 7pm

GNL Rock'n Bingo takes two of America's favorite things, bingo and music, and turns them into one game. Instead of numbers, the host plays song clips and you mark off the titles or artists on your card. You do not need to be a music expert, just someone who has heard the radio at some point in the last 50 years. It is free to play, it is loud in the best way, and it pairs perfectly with Wing Wednesday, when wings are $1.50 each with no limit.

Game Night Live Trivia: Thursdays at 7pm

Game Night Live Trivia is free and open to everyone who likes to play games and win things. Each night features two games with three rounds each, and every round is based on a popular TV game show, so it feels less like a quiz and more like a party. Bring a team of friends or make new ones at the next table. Thursday is also Thirsty Thursday, with $4 off every beer pitcher.

Tips for trivia and bingo night

• Arrive by 6:30pm to get a good table, especially with a bigger group.
• Order food before the game starts. Shareables like nachos, Idaho Tatchos and queso dip from the main menu are made for the table.
• Teams of four to six are the sweet spot for trivia.
• Both games are free; just come in, grab a seat and play.

Watch the Game at The Lift

With large TVs around the bar and dining room, The Lift is a go-to spot to watch football, basketball and the other big games of the week. Boise State football is the main event in the fall. Broncos game days bring a crowd, a lot of blue and orange, and food and drink specials for the football season. Past watch parties include BSU vs Oklahoma State and BSU vs Wyoming.

Is Trivia Family Friendly?

Game Night Live Trivia and Music Bingo are aimed at adults, but the questions and songs are mainstream and fun rather than rude, and families often join in during the early part of the evening. The kitchen serves the full menu during both games, so kids can dig into chicken strips or mac n cheese while the grown-ups argue about answers.

You will be busy writing down answers, so order food that is easy to share and eat with one hand. Regulars go for:

Music Bingo or Trivia: Which Night Is for You?

If your group loves singing along and does not want to think too hard, Wednesday Music Bingo is the pick: it is loud, fast and anyone can win. If your friends are the type who shout answers at the TV during game shows, Thursday trivia is your night, with team play across two games and plenty of friendly rivalry. Plenty of regulars do both, and with Wing Wednesday and Thirsty Thursday on the same nights, it is easy to see why.
